Professional Member: Science professionals or other individuals with a strong interest in Academy goals. These members have voting rights, pay reduced registration at IAS events, receive IAS publications and emails and may serve in elected office.

The Professional Member category also includes Fellows, Distinguished Fellows, Emeritus, Emeritus Fellow, Lifetime Fellow, Lifetime Member. Lifetime members have a paid up membership. Emeritus members are retired with at least 15 years of continuous IAS membership. Contact the IAS office more details.

General Membership: Individuals with an interest in science and the goals of the Iowa Academy of Science and science is an avocation. These members pay a reduced rate to attend IAS events, receive IAS publications and emails but may not serve in elected office. This is a reduced rate membership.

Student Members: Full-time graduate or undergraduate students at an institution of higher learning.

New Professional Members must have not been a member of the Academy during the past 3 years.

Donate to the Iowa Academy of Science

The Academy needs donations because membership dues do not cover all of the operational expenses of the organization. To donate online click "Donate" on the top menu bar of this webpage. The Iowa Academy of Science is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization. Donations are tax deductible.

General Membership - $35.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year No automatically recurring payments This membership type is for individuals with an interest in science and the goals of the Iowa Academy of Science and science is an avocation. Science professionals or science teachers are not eligible for this membership category. General Members pay 50% of the standard Professional Member rate, receive IAS publications, mailings, emails, but do not have access to the Members Only section of the website. General Members pay a reduced rate at IAS events. They do not have voting rights and cannot hold elected office or serve on committees.

New Professional Membership - $60.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year, on: January 1st No automatically recurring payments New Professional Members receive a $10.00 discount. A new member is a first time applicant or a previous IAS member whose membership has lapsed for at least three years. IAS Professional Members receive all IAS publications, mailings, email notices, and access to the Members Only section of the IAS website.

Student - $35.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year, on: January 1st No automatically recurring payments Student members must be currently enrolled full-time in an institution of higher learning. Student members may be asked to provide proof of full-time status.
